Welcome to Be True Healing - Meet Laura Preskin

Laura is a LCSW-trained psychotherapist with over 1,000 hours of  ”one-on- one “ experience working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, and critical life changes.  She is also a certified plant medicine integration coach, herbalist and ecstatic dance guide. 

In recent years, Laura has journeyed through the jungles and mountains of Costa Rica and Peru, where she met and studied with wise shamans and psychedelic gurus.  These experiences propelled her to add to her practice psychedelic coaching and guidance for those interested in deeper healing with plant medicine and herbs. 

Laura uses an eclectic integrated approach from an array of tools and skills including: mindfulness, somatic movement, dream analysis, herb formulas and journaling.  She combines these modalities with her therapeutic work experience as a licensed social worker to provide counseling and mentoring.  Also, Laura has developed a 6-week session structure that includes the preparation and integration work necessary for a safe and enriching psychedelic journey experience. 

Laura has reinvented herself many times through her lifetime and has had successful careers in mental health, entrepreneurship and mentorship.  Back in 2012, Laura started her own brand of sun protection activewear for women called Yaffaactivewear.com. During that period she coached and mentored over 25 budding entrepreneurs.

Laura loves to see people evolve to be their true self and find passion in what they do.

Laura lives in Westchester, NY, with her husband and loves gardening, hiking, biking and dancing at sunrise.
